Multi-Focal Lens Implants

Here at Charlotte Ophthalmology, we are proud  to offer the latest exciting technologies available to our patients with cataracts. The advanced technology lens implants we offer can provide a full range of vision, from near to far, with little or no need for glasses or bifocals. Dr. Brandon Whiteside is giving Charlotteans great vision and the opportunity to reduce  their dependence on glasses or possibly glasses free! These multifocal lens implants include the Tecnis Symfony®, TECNIS® Multifocal lenses, and the AcrySof® ReSTOR® .

AcrySof® ReSTOR® LENS

The AcrySof® ReSTOR® lens is a breakthrough because it corrects cataracts with or without Restor Logopresbyopia. Presbyopia is the reason many patients need reading glasses as their eyes age. In fact, 4 out of 5 patients in the supporting clinical study who had the AcrySof® ReSTOR® lens in both eyes reported NEVER having to wear glasses.

The AcrySof® ReSTOR® lens is also a breakthrough because, unlike traditional monofocal intraocular lens implants (IOL), it’s a multifocal IOL, designed to restore your full range of vision without the need for glasses, from the pages of a book, to your computer screen, to scenic landscapes. As the name implies, monofocal lenses can only give you clear distance vision–you still need reading glasses. For more information, please email or call our office at 704-895-8200!

TECNIS® MULTIFOCAL LENS

Tecnis® Multifocal lenses are a available  in full range of focal points. They can have you seeing clear at all TECHNISranges: distance, intermediate and near. This is the new age of great vision.  Bringing back your younger vision. This lens is made to even be used to read in dim light. Again, halos and glare can be present around lights at night but typically diminish in time. For more information visit: https://surgical.jnjvision.com/us/iols/multifocal

Each year over 15 million cataracts are performed. A lens needs to be placed after the removal of a cataract (natural lens becomes cloudy, brown, or yellow.)
